Jason E. Skehar

President and Chief Executive Officer

Jason joined the Bonavista team in November 1999 as a Production Engineer, was promoted to Production Manager in January 2003, Vice President Production in January 2005, was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer in November 2008 and then promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer in December 2012. He started his career in 1994 as Operations Engineer at Fletcher Challenge and prior to joining Bonavista, held both production and exploitation positions at Renaissance Energy and Probe Exploration.

Jason graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science (Distinction) degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.

Bruce W. Jensen

Chief Operating Officer

Bruce joined the Bonavista team in August 2002 as a Senior Exploitation Engineer, and from April 2007 to December 2010, Bruce was a Development Engineering Manager. In January 2011, Bruce was promoted to the position of Vice President, Engineering with responsibility for all development engineering activities at Bonavista and in October 2014 Bruce was promoted to his current position of Chief Operating Officer. Bruce has over 38 years of industry experience with several oil and gas companies in the fields of development, production, reservoir engineering, and acquisition evaluations. 

Bruce graduated from the University of Alberta in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.

Dean M. Kobelka

Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Dean joined Bonavista in July of 2000 as Supervisor, Operations Accounting, was promoted to Vice President and Controller in January 2006 and in June 2008 was promoted to Vice President, Finance with responsibilities including internal and external financial reporting, involvement in both treasury and corporate planning functions, and supervising daily accounting duties. In May 2015, Dean was promoted to his current position of Chief Financial Officer.

Dean graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1992, received his Certified General Accountant designation in 1997 and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.

Rochelle L. Estep

Vice President, Strategy and Planning

After four years of reservoir and completions experience at a large integrated producer, Rochelle joined Bonavista as a Development Engineer in 2006 and was integral in the development of our Hoadley Glauconite play. In 2014, she was promoted to Manager, Development Engineering and in 2017 she was promoted to Director, Business and Commercial Development. In May 2018, Rochelle was promoted to her current position of Vice President, Strategy and Planning where she plays an instrumental role in the design and execution of our long-term strategy and planning initiatives.

Rochelle graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering (Great Distinction) and holds an MBA degree from the University of Calgary. Rochelle is also a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.

Colin J. Ranger

Vice President, Operations

Colin joined the Bonavista team in September 2005 as Environmental Coordinator, and was promoted to Production Engineer in November 2007. In January 2011, Colin was promoted to Manager, Production Engineering and in October 2014, Colin was promoted to Vice President, Production. In May 2018, Colin assumed his current position of Vice President, Operations. His responsibilities include overseeing our field operations team as well as our drilling, completions and facility operations. Colin also leads our health, safety and environmental initiatives. Colin has over 18 years of industry experience in several fields.

Colin graduated from the University of Alberta in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and Conservation Sciences.

 

Lynda J. Robinson

Vice President, Human Resources and Administration

Lynda returned to Bonavista in January 2006 as Vice President, Human Resources & Administration. She originally joined Bonavista as Supervisor, Corporate Services in 2002 and left in 2005 to join an intermediate energy trust as Manager, Corporate Services. Lynda is responsible for human resources policies and best practices as well as overseeing corporate administration. Lynda has over 21 years of industry experience in various positions of increasing responsibility, with a focus on human resources development.

Lynda graduated from Bath Technical College, England with a Diploma in Business Administration.

Scott W. Shimek

Vice President, Resource Development

Scott started his career at Bonavista in January 2006 as a Production Engineer. From September 2009 to January 2011, Scott worked as a Development Engineer before being promoted to Manager, Production Engineering in January 2011.  In January 2014, he was promoted to Manager, Drilling and then to Director, Drilling and Environment a year later. In May 2015, Scott was promoted to Vice President, Operations and in May 2018, assumed his current position of Vice President, Resource Development. Scott’s primary responsibility is to lead the resource development team in their pursuit of best-in-class development within our asset portfolio.

Scott graduated from the University of Alberta in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (Distinction) and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.
